| Also BA have a sale on now going to Van, found them on ebookers going form Dublin via Heathrow for 580 euro leaving Nov 20th and flying back April 30th (probably cheaper for you guys as you might be able to take out Dublin Flight) . One thing I would say about aircanada is that their economy class is really bad for such a long flight to Van, mates went with BA when i flew with Air Canada and their flight seemed way better, I am not tall and I found the leg room to be as bad as a short hall ryan air flight. |

I had a look at BA prices and they're quite reasonable, just booked my flights for £418 return to London. I will never fly Air Canada again after last season's fiasco.
We hung around the luggage pick up area for nearly an hour until we were advised that our luggage is on another flight arriving either later during the day or the next day!? Turns out the luggage wasn't transferred over in time when we transitted through Toronto so it was placed on a different flight. Apparently it is a common occurance but you would have thought they could have advised us. In the end it took 2 days until our luggage was couriered to us in London. Snacks were poor, limited leg room and the seats and screens look like they haven't been upgraded since the 80s. The cabin crew were very friendly though. |

| Bastards the lot of you; I'm out of here at the end of September and almost can't bear to watch this thread develop like the one from last season. However if you want any advice just ask; I've done a couple of seasons out here. One was arranged from home through a season company and the other with a group of mates renting a house locally and working. Hopefully that puts me in a position to answer some questions, although I'm not giving up my secret spots so don't ask. |

This is knid of half off topic but anyway here it goes!
Want to get a new board for the following season. I want to get one that is best suited for park and powder (I think these might be mutually exclusive though). I am not too conserened about piste stuff as when I am on piste I am usually looking for little lips and jumps to mess around on (so kind of treat it like a park anyway). Does anyone know of any board that might be good for this? Was thinking of the last seasons Burton Shaun White after reading a review of it on here.
Now for the whistler relevent stuff. For anyone who has been to Whistler before where would the cheapest place to get a board be, Whistler (whit seasonaires discounts and all that), Vancouver outlets or ebay? Will be heading out around the 20th of November so might miss the early season sales in whistler. Thanks for any response! |

Cheers lez_s, I normally ride a 156 so that should be grand for the powder days then. I think I know the area of Van you are talking about, theres about 10 massive adventure sports stores and board stores all with in 5 blocks of each other. If i rememeber right its on West Broadway and near the Cambie Street crossing.
Yeh, I will be in White Gold all season. |

there are loads of boards about that will do the job you'll just have to try a few out.
i was going to say when i get there i'll take you to evolution where my mate works, but i don't there in until the end of nov now but i guess you want the board to opening day. |

Damn i'm gutted to hear that Air Canada are so poor although i got a golden deal so I can't complain too hard. Managed to get a flight from London to Van , Van to Toronto then Toronto to london for £416 so not a bad deal at all ... shall have to see if I regret it now.
I arrive in Van on November 4th but I will only be heading up to Whistler every other weekend. The plan is to spend the time in Vancouver and frequent grouse while being able to enjoy the town and start my new business then fly to Toronto after the winter for the rest of the year. Would like to hear from anyone doing anything similar?

| It's done, I am now officially going to Whistler! Booked my flights last night leaving on the 21st Oct to Vancouver with BA for the princely some of £467. Only problem is that I am going from terminal 5 so fingers crossed by bags arrive in Vancouver at least some time before the end of the season! |
