The Ski village just lost part of the nursery slope.

It looks like there are some really determined morons who wont stop until they manage to destroy every little bit of the ski village.

Is it just mindless vandalism or is there some bad feelings against the place/people? Strange to be targeted so much even if it does look super secluded and out of the way.

wow the police are slacking up sheffield way, I don't understand though why somebody would just torch a building and a slope for fun it just doesn't add up, i'm sure even vandals have better things to do, I don't think this is just a case of vandalism, yeah the remains are now bound to be a target for vandalism but i don't think the two are related.

I would speculate that this is yet another part of an elaborate insurance job.

i reckon your wrong there Rob.

the company that where running ssv went into liquidation a few months ago. dont think insurance pays out to companies that dont exist any more.

having worked up there, and seen the constant haassle we got from the local chavs my feelings are its a handful of arseholes with lots better to do but no imagination. fires are easy!

There's some sad photos of the slope there... although some of the graffiti on the vehicles in rather cool.

I certainly can't see SSV coming back at all from this. Big shame.

Grabbed some of this info and a photo for a news post - hope that's okay Mini.

Thats such a shame. I went to Halifax for the first time the other day and had a real laugh, I would have really liked to have gone to Sheffield as well but I guess thats not going to be an option now.

Its unbelievable that whoever it is that keeps doing it hasn't been caught yet? Crying or Very sad

I would hope I am wrong as well to be honest, Mini. Unfortunately in this day and age though you can never be sure, insurance can be fairly corrupt (not as bad as oil and banking though Twisted Evil ...???!!!) These acts of vandalism may have been set up to enhance the credibility of a pending claim from before the previous company when into liquidation. Hell, the liquidators may even be involved themselves.

As I say I hope I am wrong and it is just local chavs- sadly a lot of kids these days have nothing better to do with their time, but then hey, isn't society to blame for this.

Sad times either way.

Sad times either way.

If I remember correctly, the investigation from the fire brigade in to the original fire showed it wasn't arson, but an accident.

You should also be aware that posting comments accusing people of fraud on a public forum is not very clever either.
