There are three threads at the top of the UK forum at the moment from people introducing themselves as Newbies. So I thought I'd better create a sticky so people don't have to keep posting that sort of thread. I like to keep the place nice and tidy
I thought this might also be a good opportunity for the people who have been around for a while to introduce themselves and to get a bit of useful info about each other (I am actually blatantly ripping part this off Snowheads, but it's a good idea!)
You can update it as much as you want of course.
Oh and I know some of this will be in SCUK 2 Dunx, I just thought it would be a good stop gap
So fill in the blanks:
Name: Charlie
Age: 30
Weight: 11st/69kg
Height: 5'8" ish
Regular/Goofy: Goofy
Equipment: Rome Agent Rocker 155, Rome Artifact Rocker 150, Ride Nitrane Contrabands, Ride Capos, a garage full of other stuff that I dust off now and then.
Experience: Just tried to add this up, probably around 40 weeks over 11 years but I've lost count really.
Competence: Mountain - I'll ride down anything so long as there isn't a high chance of dying. Park - I'll ride over pretty much anything, I might not do anything good over it though. Considering how much snowboarding I've done I should be better than I am but I'm working on that.
Resorts Visited: Season in Mt Tremblant, Canada. Loads of resorts in France, a few in Italy, a few in Austria, a few in Switzerland... and Bansko.
Local Slope: Castleford
Goals: Get 5's back then rodeos. More comfortable riding off kickers and onto rails switch. Gnarlier off piste. Try not to overshoot any more landings. Slash 20 people in one run. Keep having fun.
14/11/12 - I'm adding front 3's off my toes to that list.

Name: ace_mcgraw / Gav
Age: 32
Weight: 17st/100+kg
Height: 5'10" ish
Regular/Goofy: Goofy
Equipment: K2 WWW 156, Pieced together Burton Custom frankenbindings, Northwave boots plus Capita 158 Unorthodox, Ride 168 Mountain, Hammer 154 Pulp, Burton 163 Air that don't get used much. And a broken Venue 161 Onyx which is used even less!
Experience: Riding since 1995, although that was infrequent for about 5 of those years, before regular holidays from 2001 onwards. Prob 250+ days on snow after season in Whistler and yearly holidays, not inc of dryslope and fridge
Competence: Despite riding for so long I'm still amazingly rubbish. Mountain - will ride down anything on piste happily. No real experience with anything too extreme off piste. Park - rubbish. Got to stage of riding off medium / red kickers in Canada, but no tricks off them. Stupidly scared of trying most park stuff - succeeded in about 5 boardslides, and landed 180s off kickers but thats about it. I reckon I have technical ability, but mentally just can't commit myself to it...
Resorts Visited: Season in Whistler (Winter and Summer) including trips to Whitewater, Big White, Mount Norquay, Sunshine Village. Saalbach, St Anton, Lech, Zurs, Sonnenkopf, Stuben in Austria. Pas de la Casa in Andorra, La Rosiere, La Tania and Meribel in France. Heavenly, Homewood and Northstar in the US. Also all of the Scottish slopes apart from Nevis.
Local Slope: Norwich ski slope
Goals: Ride more generally. Learn 180s and 360s off kickers. Get boardslides. Learn more fun flatland stuff.

Equipment: Nitro Fate 152 with Burton Lexas, Artifact Rocker 153 with Contacts, 32 Lashed boots.

Resorts Visited: Arlberg (St Anton, Lech, etc.), Zell am See (but as a skiier years ago before I switched over)
Local Slope: CFe
Goals: To hit the epic Arlberg off-piste this season and try and get my confidence back in the park.
