| No news is definitely worrying, especially with all the buzz that surrounded it a while back. can we assume the ball is slowing on this one? |

The residents of Locking (the village just outside of Weston) have apparently received a letter informing them that construction work will start on the indoor ski centre in the summer. |

| Literally so excited about this! I live in Bristol but don't drive, so getting to domes is always a biznitch. I'll be able to hop on my local train straight through now! Hopefully meet some of you lot down there! |

Really hope that is true, it would be nice if SCUK could dig up some information |

I had a dig and received this email...
Dave
Given the diverse nature of the opportunities and activities offered at the Leisuredome, the negotiations with prospective tenants and the use of consultants necessitated by a development of this size, has taken considerably longer than we first envisaged.
While we are hopeful that construction will start at some point in 2012, however Leisuredome cannot give a specific start date for construction at this time.
Regards
The Leisuredome Team |

Hmmmmm, sounds a lot like the Snoasis project. That was due to be built a coupla years ago, but as far as I know nothing much has happened...
Unfortunately that's the way with many of these things - it requires so much money to get going that in this current climate they may not be realistic... |

| Okay, so our local paper here in Weston is today reporting that five new businesses have signed up to be part of this. The chap behind the development admits it's taken longer than they expected to sign up retailers, but they now have over 65 per cent of tenants in place. I'll add the link to the article when the Weston Mercury puts it on their site. |
