right folks, with the sales well on the go i cant fight off the itch to get some new gear. My current set up is a Rome Garage Rocker, paired with some Ride Delta bindings. I absolutely love this set up as its playful and fun, but does have some limitations. Not the best at speed and while decent float on pow i find it doesn't carve and drive well through aggressive turns (funny that huh). Hence this is more of a jib set up, as was intended.

But in preparation for next season I need something that will handle better all mountain charging, decent in pow and more aggressive turning etc, while still requiring some playful fun for runs through the park when required. I've pretty much picked out the Rome Agent Rocker. As always would love to hear other peoples opinions on what is a better deck for healthy discussion.

My dilemma falls in which bindings to get. My list at present sits with Flux TT30s, Rome 390 bosses, and Union Forces. I'm leaning more towards the Fluxs. Want to try them if i can but wanted to see if there were any others that may come out of left field from you guys that i hadn't considered. Or even if i have dropped the ball on my selections.

Let me know what you guys think. Smile

I would suggest the Rome Reverb Rocker, has better edge control as that was what I was going to buy but opted for the Burton Hero instead.

As this is my first board I looked at loads of reviews and loads of searches on google etc.

Can't comment on your binding choices.

I'm not a fan of rocker boards for all mountin freestyle...for years i stuck to cambered boards but now i'm on a Ride DH2 which has Rides Hybrid Pro-rize rocker....its got micro camber between the bindings and micro rocker at the nose and tail........sounds complicated but it works a treat!!!

Ride tested 47 different profiles in the development of the new DH2 and its paid off!

it charges down piste's. floats in powder and kills inthe park!

I've tested lots of boards in the last few years and the DH2 is definatly my favoret!

as for bindings.......I dont think that different models make that much difference....there was only one type of bidings that I didnt like and that was Salomons Relay bindings.....apart form that i like most bindings....currently I totaly rekomend Ride Contrabands though as they are comfey and easy to get on and off!

I've got forces, bosses and recently got a set of tt30's for a mate so have had a bash on them too.

Found the forces and tt30's a bit stiffer and heavier than the bosses.

My forces are bullet proof and look almost brand new after a few years worth of abuse.

The material on the tt30's looks a bit more prone to wear and tear but the mechanics are rock solid.

Loved all three but personally i'd go with the bosses if you're wanting all mountain freestyle.

I had a similar choice to make and I narrowed to down to a GNU Riders Choice pickle or YES Great Beauties. Went for the GNU because of the price I got it for although it was a tough choice because I found the YES for £259 too.

Bindings - I had decided on either Rome 390 boss, Flux TT30 and Cartels. Went for the 390 boss (decade edition) purely because of price.

I've got a set of Forces as well and they are certainly pretty stiff, defo good for on the mountain. As already said, they are pretty sturdy though I have had some ongoing issues with screws loosening (have lost one toe strap and my wife had a similar issue in her Milans - though to be fair TSA sorted out with a new straps and screws FOC so minimal hassle really.)

However, I have recently bought a set of Forum Republics and I definitely prefer these indoors at least - slightly softer and more feel. Not had a chance to try them on the mountain yet but my gut feeling is that they will handle the steeps well (they seem to work well for John Jackson anyway Very Happy) so it may be worth you checking out these as they fit your requirements quite nicely as well.

Thanks for all the responses guys.

@Badboy The reverb rocker is a great board, only minor differences between that and the agenda as far as i know. Slightly less tech in the reverb.

@ROBster Thats a great board and seems to be exactly the kind of thing im looking for. Another one to add to the list. Oh man!

@Flashbak great that you have tried all my shortlist. Cant seem to get the bosses anywhere in the colourway for my board (yes i like a half decent match lol, i llike the white ones!) only can get the standard ones.

@BMcN will take a gander at those boards you mentioned. How are the bosses suiting you?

@Rob_vet69 Think i will need to go try out the forces and flux for a comparison. I like the look of the republics! You're supposed to help me narrow it down not add to it lol Very Happy

Cheers again guys, any more opinions are more than welcome.

Why not Demo a Salomon Grip, I cant prasie it highly enough, really good all mountain freestyle board, great in powder, great edge hold, nice comfortable feel
when charging and poppy enough if you wanted to spend a day in the park,
As for bindings, I ride it with Flux TT30`s and Flux SE30`s which are superb, not too soft but stiff enough to get you out of trouble, If your ever heading to Braehead give us a message and I will let you try the set up out Thumbs Up

I second the YES great beauties,Its a sweet board. after demoing some boards me and my mate decided on the Great beauties, he got his now and rides brill, im having to wait on next seasons kit as the only wide board they did this season was a 163w and i would prefer a 160w.
Also worth a look in the YES line is the Big Cities, similar to the Great beauties but its a directional twin rather than true twin and is a bit better in the fluffy stuff.
