Peanut butter JELLAY taaahmmmeeee!

I have a wildfire that's partially dead due a charging issue in the drawer. Found threads on XDA, you can s-off with revolutionary as normal provided you have a specific version of hboot. If you don't, you can change version to that anyway. Once you have s-off, adb should work to change the supercid and allow you to install the appropriate firmware for ICS, though, I'd check if there's one specifically designed for the wildfire, as the Virtuous one is specifically taylored to the Sensation handset and you might find features don't work as they should on a Wildfire as a result (you could brick it).

Had an issue with WiFi earlier, though a reboot of the phone fixed it so unsure as to whether that's a ROM issue. an ICS issue, or just an issue with my network as I know my network can be tempremental (sp?) at the best of times as I've had issues with it before on stock ROM's and not getting signal, despite only being two doors away in a modern, thin walled apartment.

I flashed a mates Galaxy S2 last night with ICS, even more features fixed and working than the ROM my Sensation's on. WiFi-Direct is awesome.

how do i go about doing it? i had a look on that website but im not very techincal so when they use abreviations etc i dont know what the feck is going on lol!

a mate did say something about booting it etc but i didnt want to seen as i had only just got it, wel ive had it about 6 months now so wouldnt mind doing. is it easy to do for a complete tech moron?

EDIT: this looks fairly easy to follow, my only concern is that its not a complete version so is it worth risking it?

What handset are you using? The Galaxy S2 route was.. easy as hell. My friend noticed a couple of issues, that have cleared themselves after 2-4 reboots, but other than that he hasn't noticed anything!

If you're not 100% comfortable doing it I wouldn't recommend it, as the only support is from XDA forum members/dev teams and not from official channels like the handset manufacturer or your carrier.

i didnt leave a link but you got the jist lol it was a link to their site (XDA) from Cnet I could probably do it but ill just play it safe and wait till it comes out in a few months from the sound of it, tbh i only use it as a phone and and the odd game so does me fine. Just thought it may sort out my signal issues (i.e. Orange being adament that I can get full 3G signal indoors, when in reality, Im sat here with my phone with NO signal at all, move it to a window and I get 1/2 bars GPRS/Edge which aint 3G) and it gets really hot when im using a high powered app i.e. games etc no worries, cheers mucca
