To the poster above, get it checked out, I wish I had. My knee's far worse for ignoring it for 4 months than it was at first.
I went to the minor injury clinic and the nurse said give it 2 weeks if the swelling isn't gone go see the doctor but she thought it would probably be ok. I can put weight on it but the swelling just won't go away and every time I touch something it really hurts. I just tried to get on the motor bike and even just having the knee pads in my trousers touching my knee makes me want to cry!
Anyway I will stop complaining now because it could be much worse I'm sure! |

| Last day of the season and after 138 days of riding I'm looking forward to resting the body until summer riding on the Blackcomb glacier. |

Not exactly sad but there isn't an "I'm pissed of today because..." thread.
Anyway, spent most of the day writing a report for one of the managers at work, by the time i'd finished it was exactly what she'd asked for. So, gave her the report only to hear the dreaded words "It's good but not really what I wanted!" Well why didn't you tell me what you actually wanted in the first place!
To say I was fecked off doesn't quite cover it |

Yeah think I'm just taking it as a lesson for the when people ask for complex reports. I need to either ask "Are you sure that's what you want?" (may not go down well) or "What are you trying to get from this report?". Might help me out a bit in the future
Cheers for the heads up on the pissed off thread, it could become a new favourite of mine |

Yeh I think it's definitely worth checking you have your facts right being investing a lot of time an effort into something like that! But as you said, live and learn! |

Well where to start…
Last week the roof of our house developed a leak so now having to spend £££ to get it repaired (it’s an old house so things tend to cost more to fix)
Then on Tuesday my wife’s car died. Took it into Mangoletsi and it turns out it needs a new alternator and battery, pretty shocking considering the car’s only 3 years old and only done 17k. Then to make matters worse the warranty ran out on the 23rd (yes 4 days ago ) so Mangoletsi want me to pay the best part of £800 to fix it. There’s no negotiation to be had with Mangoletsi so I’ve had to complain to Alfa UK to try and get some sort of goodwill payment considering it is only just out of warranty. Will find out what they decide in a few days.
That second board purchase I've been planning may have to be delayed for the time being
Bad luck apparently comes in 3’s so not sure if I should go to CFe’s freestyle night this week for fear of breaking myself |

That's sucks dude.
However, the Sale of Goods Act states that an item should be of 'satisfactory quality', which includes 'sufficient durability'. I'd say an alternator that breaks after only 3 years is clearly not sufficiently durable, especially if they themselves think it should last at least 3 years, as per their own warranty.
This is a start: http://whatconsumer.co.uk/how-long-should-it-last/
but do some more Googling and you'll have some ammo to use if they give you grief. |

Cheers Guys
CJ - 3yrs and 17k definitely not sufficient durability. Seen a few things already that suggest it may be a common fault. Serves me right for buying an Alfa - no surprises that it's an electrical fault
Fergal - Yeah don't think it's gonna be worth your while to travel all the way up here but cheers though |
